I started learning Spanish a couple of years ago mainly watching YouTube videos and from Spanish subtitles, however I had a very limited ability to speak beyond basic greetings or creating basic sentences, and although I could understand fairly well, it was very frustrating to try and just say anything as it would take me such a long time to string a sentence together. My frustration lay mainly in the fact that I felt I had a reasonable enough vocabulary that I ought to be able to communicate and yet I couldn't. So with the Spanish Club, and from the very first online session, Celso's structure, methods, expertise in foreign language learning, and his gentle yet highly encouraging approach truly changed my ability to express myself in Spanish and to feel excited about the learning journey, and to be able to speak! So much so that when I run into Spanish speakers I just talk in Spanish (mistakes and all) now and they reply in Spanish! How incredible is that? So rather than feeling frustrated, I now feel so proud of myself for literally improving week upon week. The community, exercises, and classes all offer different elements of learning that challenge you in a very fun and exciting way. And most of all for me, my confidence has drastically improved, so I don't worry if what I'm saying is completely correct, as I know that this is an encouraging and kind environment with the loveliest man at the helm. This community that Celso has created is an incredible place to meet people who are on the same Spanish learning journey as you, all at different levels and for different reasons, and with that it's such a joy to meet with everyone and to improve together. It's such a wonderful feeling and I would say such a wonderful gift!

Before joining the Spanish Club, I was nervous speaking Spanish and afraid of making mistakes. After joining Celso’s group sessions I became more confident speaking naturally. The classes are comfortable, interactive, and helped me improve my speaking and listening skills a lot. The environment is very supportive and fun, which made me enjoy learning Spanish more and stay consistent.

After several months working with Celso I feel more confident as the Spanish flows more freely and naturally. I’ve made better connections with my Spanish friends who have complimented me on how well I now speak. I also appreciate that Celso is a true educator. He knows how to help his students get the most out of their practice. ¡Gracias de verdad, Celso!

Before joining I was most frustrated with the amount of spanish I'd forgotten over the years. I studied abroad in Madrid back in 2003 and since then I'd completely stopped speaking, reading and writing in spanish. I decided to join because I wanted to get back to a conversational level and feel comfortable speaking spanish outloud again. For me, grammar was always rough and my focus was more on being able to understand spanish and then be able to have a conversation with a local. I was not interested in learning phrases that locals don't use and really didnt want to sound like a spanish grammar text book. This class gives you phrases and words that locals in Spain use on a daily basis. Example: I was just in Madrid a couple weeks ago visiting my host family and they taught me the card game Escoba. Prior to the trip, Celso taught me: me toca, te toca, etc. which is like, "my turn", "your turn" etc. I thought that was such a useful saying (I don't recall ever hearing or using that phrase back in 2003). When playing the game I got excited when I (without thinking) blurted out, "me toca?" and was able to use it at the right time in the right context. For me, this is class has dramatically increased my level of spanish and has also given me the confidence to speak more without over thinking it and over translating every single thing in my head. At times, I now feel like I know more than what I knew in 2003 and I'm excited to keep learning and improving my spanish.

Soy Sean, y soy canadiense... In 2025, I spent 5 weeks in Spain after spending a couple of months with a language learning app. While it helped me minimally, I was still unable to communicate with any level of confidence. We booked for 6 weeks in 2026 before we even came home in 2025, and I knew I would have to do something different, en serio! Soy muy fan de Youtube, and as I was scrolling one day, I found Celso's videos, and I was hooked. I spent a few days watching and his style really appealed to me, so I reached out and we set up a meeting. Long story short, I joined Spanish with Celso, and I've never looked back, de verdad! Entonces, ahora, I'm much more comfortable trying out my Spanish. We did our 6 weeks in Valencia and my ability to communicate and understand was significantly improved. I would say that Celso's approach focuses on building confidence while becoming comfortable with vocabulary and structure. The small group that I'm a part of has become part of my daily life. We chat, we practice, we laugh. On the days when I feel like my head is about to explode, Celso knows how to get me over the hump. He's a super guy and a great teacher. Now I’m practicing for a trip to Barcelona in the summer and my 6 weeks in Spain in February. Soy Sean...estoy aprendiendo español con Celso...and you should too!!!

Since joining Celso’s Spanish Club, my confidence in speaking Spanish has improved enormously. Before that, I often felt blocked when trying to speak. I could understand quite a lot, but the moment I had to actually say something myself, I would overthink every word and become frustrated. What has made the biggest difference for me is the atmosphere Celso creates. His energy, positivity and encouragement make speaking feel natural rather than stressful. He explains things clearly, but at the same time he constantly motivates you to actually use the language instead of being afraid of making mistakes. I first started following some of Celso’s videos and podcasts last year, and then joined the Club more seriously and consistently from February. Since then, I’ve noticed a real change in my Spanish. I can now hold conversations much more spontaneously, communicate better during my time in Spain, and feel far more comfortable speaking with native speakers in everyday situations. I now spend part of my time in the Valencia area, and improving my Spanish has genuinely helped me connect with local people and become more integrated into daily life there. I can speak to neighbours, workers, people in cafés and shops, and even listen to people telling me about their own lives and experiences. That may sound simple, but for me it has been incredibly important and rewarding, and Celso’s teaching has played a huge part in making that possible. One thing I particularly appreciate is how approachable and supportive Celso is. He is incredibly accessible online, and whenever you need help — whether uploading homework, sending a voice message for correction, or asking questions about Spanish — he is always encouraging, responsive and helpful. That ongoing support makes a huge difference and keeps you motivated to continue learning. One of the moments I realised my Spanish had improved was when I found myself naturally trying to explain things, tell stories, or deal with practical situations in Spanish instead of immediately switching back to English. That would have felt impossible before. I also really appreciate all the additional content Celso creates — the videos, podcasts, expressions, explanations and everyday examples. They are incredibly helpful and make learning enjoyable rather than feeling like hard work. Most importantly, Celso gives people confidence. He creates an environment where you genuinely want to keep learning and improving. I’m very grateful for all his help, patience and enthusiasm, and I can honestly say my Spanish has progressed significantly thanks to him. Highly recommended.

Since deciding to move to Spain from the U.S., I have watched a lot of YouTube channels for Spanish learners. What I learned was no matter how much of a language you 'learn', speaking in real life conversations is something altogether different. Celso's group focuses on this point. I didn't move to Spain to take exams in Spanish, I moved here to live! From meeting new neighbors, to explaining an ailment to a pharmacist to registering kids for activities, I had to understand and be understood. Celso's weekly speaking challenges and local phrases were really valuable! The online group sessions made me feel welcome and comfortable at my level. Celso's style is exactly what I needed to gain more confidence to speak and make mistakes rather than speak English or decide not to speak at all. The consistency of the activities keeps me engaged and learning. Encouraging others by commenting on their posts makes this community special. Thank you Celso!

Before I started taking classes with Celso, I felt really frustrated with my Spanish. Although I could understand a lot when reading, I struggled to form long sentences or hold conversations, and I found it difficult to understand spoken Spanish unless there were subtitles. I had strong vocabulary base that I felt I could not put to use when speaking, especially in different tenses. Since taking classes with him, my confidence and fluency have improved so much! I’m now able to comfortably hold conversations in spanish and express my thoughts naturally and find myself understanding Spanish content online without needing subtitles anymore. I also noticed that during classes, I do not rely on translations although they are fully held in Spanish, which is a huge milestone for me. I’ve also learned so much about Spanish culture through these classes, which has been super interesting and exciting as I prepare to move to Spain. Celso has been incredibly supportive and encouraging throughout my entire journey in learning Spanish, both in private and group classes. These lessons have truly helped me overcome my fear of speaking with native speakers, and I’m so grateful for all the progress I’ve made :)

I’ve been learning Spanish for many years because it has always been my favorite language. I first studied it at school and later at university, but I often felt frustrated because I could hardly speak and didn’t see much progress. The focus was mainly on grammar, which left me feeling insecure and overthinking every time I tried to speak. I discovered Celso’s courses by chance, and I’m honestly very grateful I did, because I was close to giving up on Spanish completely. Over the past year, I’ve made huge progress thanks to the strong focus on natural, everyday language and real communication instead of just grammar rules. During my current trip to Spain, I can really feel the difference, I understand locals much better, react more naturally in conversations, and I can even watch Spanish videos at normal speed to some extent. Of course I still make mistakes when speaking, but that’s part of the learning process. I feel very comfortable in the classes and can recommend them 100%. Celso is very patient and understanding, and he really takes the time to adapt the lessons to his students, what they need and what they want from the course. At the same time, you are challenged with speaking tasks and language challenges, which helps a lot because you only improve by actively speaking. The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive, no one feels judged, and every level is taken into account. I’m really happy to be learning Spanish here because you learn the Spanish that people actually speak in real life.
